Matt Wiegle has worked as a freelance cartoonist and illustrator since 2002. He’s drawn a 200-page adaptation of Romeo and Juliet for Sparknotes and illustrated nine other works of classical literature for Sparknotes’ video series. He’s also responsible for the Ignatz award-winning short comic “The Orphan Baiter,” has contributed to numerous anthologies, and has had work exhibited at Fredericks & Freiser in New York and Franklin Art Works in Minneapolis.
Matt is currently earning a Master’s Degree in Industrial Design from Philadelphia University. He previously studied sculpture at Yale University, where he built a jail for fish and a giant peach for a children’s theater troupe. He lives in Philadelphia with his wife and two children.
